I got my Stryd Footpod today and took a moment to open it all up, charge it some, then pair it to the Stryd App on my droid.
Sorry about the sound sync – this was shot on an old PC webcam and the video and audio were way off.

I could not get the Zwift Runpod to work no matter what I did today, so I hooked up the Tickr Run combo heart rate/running speed-cadence sensor. It worked well enough except for a super wonky glitchy section during an interval. Alas…

I had a slew of technical problems today, from a Windows 10 PC not waking up from sleep, a Zwift update, a bluescreen and an unplugged ANT+ dongle. Set me back quite a bit but I was finally able to connect my Stryd footpod and take off running. After, I synced to the Stryd app (which caused a few issues in Strava and Training Peaks). My first impression? I’m in love. Well worth the money.

Is it possible to set the treadmill to 3.2 mph at 22%? Stryd tech support said “go for it” and here I am testing it. First in the video though, I am wrapping up my Zwift Running workout for the day during which I explain how I blew out my knee, blaming to some small extent my Wahoo Kickr Core for being hit by the EMP, an old Kinetic Road Machine with an old Canondale CAAD8, a catalytic converter biting the dust, the UTA Frontrunner horrid schedule and there I am – blown out knee.

I chose the “Cyclist to 10k” Program in Zwift Running and this was the pre-program warmup (which I didn’t know at the time, so here I’m thinking it was actually the first workout, which it wasn’t) and after possibly fixing some connectivity issues with the Runpod I did the first workout, then a little bit of steep walking to finish it off.

Yep, did this one on December 31, over a month ago, and it got lost in the shuffle. Sharing my thoughts on a long (30+ miles) recovery ride in Zwift. Is it possible to ride 30+ miles in Zwift? What keeps you motivated and in the game? I was still in my free trial and trying to decide – should I pay for this or not?
